The wedding season has well and truly kicked in and it’s been a frenzy of activity at rightshot towers over the past few weeks, we’ve shot weddings at Pembroke Lodge, Richmond (one of our faves), The Mandarin Oriental, Knightsbridge (v.posh), Hartsfield Manor, Betchworth (De Vere – free coffee and cookies!), Ramster, Witley (oak panelling – dark!), Upwaltham Barns, Sussex and The Grange St.Pauls Hotel, London (met the owner, nice chap, done well for himself) and that’s just for starters.

This Saturday sees us shooting weddings at Eton College and Notley Abbey, Thame – weather forecast is SUNNY! (although this is England so expect the unexpected, snow anyone?)

National Wedding Show, Olympia, Feb 2012

Well the curtain has closed on another National Wedding Show, visitor numbers are down on last year and the show certainly felt smaller and less frantic than in previous years, although my achey jaw and croaky voice are testament to the amount of people that visited our stand.

We’ve had a really positive response with lots of bookings taken and some really fantastic feedback: a picture editor for one of the large picture agencies getting married next year told us that our work, along with that of one other photographer (who shall remain nemeless) was the best at the show. It’s all a matter of taste and opinion of course but amongst 30 other photographers that’s good to hear.

The new bobo albums went down a storm as well, we received some really positive feedback about the look, feel and quality of the albums. The new bobo website is now live so do please take a look, we’ll write a little bit more about that later. Suffice to say that hi-end wedding albums are no longer the sole preserve of wedding photographers and are now freely available to all through the boutique book co (bobo)

We also took a booking for professionally retouching the wedding photographs of a nice lady who was really disappointed with the images taken by her photographer (again will remain nameless), it would have been cheaper for her to book a decent photographer in the first place or she could have booked us and paid in installments (we’re flexible like that you know).

We had enquiries for weddings in such far flung places as Ghana, South Africa, Mauritius, Malta, India, Jamaica and Trinidad, my response is always “I’d love to shoot it for you”

We had a rival wedding photographer taking a picture of our stand and even one chancer trying to take photographs of the photographs in our albums – cheeky buggers!

All in all a fun and positive experience, but really exhausting and we’re glad we’ve got 6 months to recover until the next one.

It’s that time of year again and rightshot are happy to be exhibiting at the UK’s biggest and most popular wedding show at London’s Olympia on Feb 24-26th.

The National Wedding Show is attended by over 13,000 brides all looking to find that ‘something special’ from favours to dresses, teeth whitening to tiaras, cakes to confetti and photographers too of course – it’s all there under one very large roof.

Come along and meet us on stand G32, we’re opposite the champagne bar so nice and easy to find!

We’ve been busy behind the scenes collating lots of new portfolio images taken from our 2011 weddings, which we’ll be adding to the website in the next few days.

2011 saw us photographing weddings at some fantastic new venues, such as The Dairy at Waddesdon Manor, Clandon Park, Surrey, Beaumont Estate in Windsor, Leeds Castle, Syon House, as well as at some of our old favourites such as Pembroke Lodge, Richmond and Orchardleigh in Somerset.
